ABBYY FineReader Professional Edition

Before you have activated FineReader , the program will run in restricted mode. This means that you will not be able to print recognized texts or send recognition results into external applications.

To activate ABBYY FineReader Professional Edition right now:

• Run the ABBYY FineReader Activation Wizard (Help/Activate ABBYY FineReader) on the computer on which you are going to use the program;
• Select the "By phone" or "By fax" activation method and click "Next";
• The Activation Wizard will display your serial number and Installation ID;
• Enter these numbers into their corresponding fields below;
• In reply, you will receive an Activation Code which you must enter in the corresponding field of the Activation Wizard. Now the program will run in full-function mode.

If you want to activate ABBYY FineReader 8.0 or ABBYY Fine Reader 7.0, please use the following form:

ABBYY FineReader can be installed on the same computer an unlimited number of times without re-activation. However, if major changes are made to the system (i.e. reformatting the hard drive, re-installation of the operating system, etc.), an additional activation may be required.

ABBYY FineReader Corporate Edition

Before you can run ABBYY FineReader Corporate Edition, you need to activate the program. You can activate ABBYY FineReader Corporate Edition by e-mail or over the Internet directly from within the program using the Activation Wizard.

If you have installed FineReader Corporate Edition on a standalone computer, the program will prompt you to run the Activation Wizard at start-up. If you have installed FineReader Corporate Edition in a network, run the Activation Wizard from within the License Manager utility.

If you cannot activate ABBYY FineReader Corporate Edition on the computer on which it is installed (e.g. the computer is not connected to the Internet and, therefore, you cannot send an e-mail from this computer), do the following:

• Copy the contents of the e-mail activation request generated by the Activation Wizard;
• Paste this information into an e-mail message and send this message from any other computer to: FineReader-activation@abbyy.com (ABBYY FineReader 9.0), ce-activation-robot@abbyy.com (ABBYY FineReader 8.0 or ABBYY FineReader 7.0);
• In reply, you will receive an Activation File that you will need to save on your local disk as described in the accompanying instructions;
• Enter the path to this file in the corresponding field of the Activation Wizard.
